REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

(1) The administration of the Newfoundland and Labrador Registered Professional Forester Program is carried out by the CIF/ IFC Newfoundland and Labrador Section.

(2) Review of applications and registrations is conducted by the members of the Registered Professional Forester Program Executive on a routine or semiannual basis. The Registered Professional Forester Executive will grant or deny registration, conduct examinations, or authorize educational institutions whose curriculum included technical forestry training to conduct examinations as outlined in the registration requirements. The Registered Professional Forester Executive will also hear appeals of negative action toward the registration of a Registered Professional Forester or a Registered Professional Forester applicant.

(3) The Registered Professional Forester Executive will conduct hearings as it deems appropriate when its members have reason to believe a requirement for registration may have been violated by a Registered Professional Forester. Should the decision affect adversely upon registration, the individual can appeal the decision to the Registered Professional Forester Executive, whereupon an independent arbitrator will be appointed to make a final ruling. Appeals must be made to the Registered Professional Forester Executive in writing within thirty (30) days from the date of the Executive's decision.

(4) Any information related to registered Professional Forester status of individual members and Registered Professional Forester candidates is freely communicated by the Registered Professional Forester Executive to federal and provincial authorities and the general public.

(5) Candidates are notified in writing by the Registered Professional Forester Executive of their annual status and successful applicants receive a certificate designating them as a Registered Professional Forester in Newfoundland and Labrador.
